Project Spotlight: Springhill Suites

This project consisted of a 14 story Hotel with 200 guest rooms and common areas with high-quality materials. The common areas consisted of Pool level, garage levels 1-3, 4th floor lobby and 5th-14th guestroom levels.  We started the project installing porcelain tile floors and base in the guestrooms then moved to the common areas.  We then came back through the building to install the carpet and carpet base in the guestrooms.

  • 14,000 square yards of carpet
  • 25,000 linear feet of carpet base
  • 250 square yards of woven gym flooring
  • 7,000 linear feet of resilient base
  • 34,000 square feet of porcelain floor tile
  • 5,000 square feet of porcelain wall tile
  • 2,600 square feet of stone pavers

There was a large variety of different tiles requiring a high level of skill and attention to detail.  There were two bars that received specialty mosaic tile on the bar fronts as well as several feature walls throughout the hotel with specialty tile.  Most of the floor tile was large format porcelain that required a precise install to ensure a flat surface.  We installed broadloom carpet throughout with large elaborate patterns requiring experience and skill to ensure that the patterns matched up correctly.

Due to Hurricane Michael, the project was shut down for nearly a month putting everyone behind schedule.  However, there wasn’t any additional time given to the schedule. Towards the end of the project, we had 25 men working 7 days a week 12-15-hour days to complete and were able to finish on time and within budget.
